Why contact lens consultation?
The contact lens consultation is slightly different from the eye test. The first part of the contact lens consultation starts with the optometrist asking you a certain number of questions in order to establish your health, eyehealth as well as your needs and expectations from the consultation.
The second part of the test involves checking and measuring the front surface of your eyes. The optometrist will also evaluate your corneal and overall health of your eyes, eyelids and lashes.
The optometrist will then discuss the available options in relation to your lifestyle and needs.
For contact lens wearers, you will need to wear your contact lenses for the appointment unless you experience irritation or discomfort. The optometrist will then check the fitting of the lenses as well as test the vision with them.
Things to bring with you for your consultation
- A valid eye-test prescription
- Your contact lens prescription or an old box of contact lenses if available.
- Your contact lens case if any.
- Your current spectacles.
